Here's what some people are saying about LOST TIME:
"LOST TIME is a group of seasoned bluegrass musicians, each of whom have
aged like fine wine. It was great fun to welcome them back to the Kirkland
Art Center in this configuration. These guys have been around in other
groups, in other hats, but this mix seems to be the best fit by far." --GINGER PARKER: KIRKLAND ART CENTER COFFEEHOUSE, Clinton, NY
"It's such a pleasure to witness the return of four veteran Central New York
bluegrass pickers and singers. All of these talented gentlemen paid their
dues decades ago to bluegrass music in these parts. Now, after a significant
absence to devote needed time to jobs and families, LOST TIME is once again
on the scene as musically strong as ever!" --BILL KNOWLTON: "BLUEGRASS RAMBLE," WCNY-FM: Syracuse, Utica, Watertown NY
"LOST TIME is a group of professionals who get up on stage to do their job with vocals and instrumentals that are far from run-of-the-mill. I highly recommend them as a great addition to any festival." -- KIM FOX: THE KIM FOX BAND, Nashville, TN; FOX FAMILY BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL, Old Forge, NY
"The very finest bluegrass music any place." --NANCY LARRAINE HOFFMANN, former NEW YORK STATE SENATOR
"LOST TIME is an incredibly talented group of veteran musicians who found each other not a moment too soon!" --GARY VAN RIPER: CAMDEN TIMES AND BEACH JOURNAL
LOST TIME had its beginnings in the summer of 2000 when four old friends got together for a bluegrass jam session. After only a few songs they realized that this was a musically special combination that should be pursued. The name Lost Time was chosen to represent all the time they had known each other and not played in a band in this particular combination. Since that time and through several personnel changes, the band has played throughout the region at festivals, concerts, and coffeehouses. Lost Time is the co-host (along with the Atkinson Family) of the annual Tug Hill Bluegrass Festival to be held in Lowville, NY June 15-17, 2012. In January of 2009 they opened for Dr. Ralph Stanley and his Clinch Mountain Boys at Hamilton College, and conducted a workshop on the music of the Stanley Brothers at the Kirkland Art Center. The band consists of founding member John Burton (banjo & vocals), multi-instrumentalist Ted Lambert (mandolin, guitar & vocals), Ted’s son Justin (acoustic bass & vocals), Taylor Buckley (fiddle), Larry Fox (guitar & vocals), and Charlie Ingersoll (resonator guitar & vocals). The band features tight two, three, and four-part vocal harmonies, and stellar instrumental work, with a range of material including bluegrass standards, fiddle tunes, traditional country, gospel, and contemporary Americana.
